Flavors of Home

There’s a scene in the Disney/Pixar movie “Ratatouille” that shows what it feels like to eat certain foods.  The food critic Anton Ego, all set to write the review that will bring down Gusteau’s once and for all, takes a bite of Remy’s ratatouille.  The simple dish transports him back to his childhood.

Home isn’t just one place, or even a place.  It’s memories of belonging.  It’s memories of warmth.  It’s memories of communion.  It is both rest and renewal.  It is Sabbath.
